Status update

Been a little while since my last entry, but believe that I have been working very hard to improve my craft yet further still.

Had a lot of gigs in recent weeks, mainly with my band; would like to send a shout to everyone who came down to support and obviously all of the promoters that booked us.

Also ventured overseas to Sweden to play an exclusive set with World Beatbox Heavyweight Faith SFX and my good friend Forte on keys. Definately an experience!! (our flight got cancelled on the way back and we ended up in Germany for some reason). Shout out to Orcane for booking us for that one too. Check out video footage HERE.

Most notably, things have been moving fast with the band; a lot of gigs, a recording session with EMI, the introduction of a new member (the whizzkid known as Kola Bello), and the sad parting of ways with founding member and keyboardist Jacob Dyer. We wish him the utmost best, but no doubt you will see him playing guest keys for us at some point.

A lot has happened in the last couple of months, musically and personally, some of it too long to explain, some of it doesn't need an explanation just yet. Either way it's been an eventful Summer period, one which I feel has seen me grow a lot as an artist and ultimately start to realise my potential and where my place in the music industry is.

Stay tuned.. there are A LOT of exciting adventures I'm about to embark on. I will post up when I can and keep you informed as the news breaks.

Thank you so much for supporting and continuing to do so.

Supporting The Game @ O2 Academy, Leeds

Wow, the last few days have been kinda hectic but I've finally managed to free up some time to document the event.

Basically, I got a call on Monday from my boy Daniel Hills asking me to jump on his set as the opening act for the Leeds edition of The Game's UK Tour. To be honest, I aint really a fan of The Game, but it was a chance to get my name out, so you know!

Ended up playing a 2-hour set with Dan, hypin the crowd while he spun the records. Not gonna lie, the crowd seemed kinda dead at first and I thought it was gonna be a long night, but after we dropped some Westcoast shit we got their attention. Turned out to be pretty damn good.

The Game was ok.. came out unnecessarily insulting Jay-Z though. All I'm gonna say is, Jay-Z will most probably merk him.

Was a good experience overall though, will defo welcome more of the same!

Anyway, that's the news in brief. You can check out the video footage of the night below. PEACE

RIP Michael Jackson

I am deeply devastated with the loss of my idol and inspiration, Michael Jackson. It's taken me a few days to even begin writing this blog, as I tried to pretend like it was something that didn't happen, but I guess it's time to deal with it.

Michael Jackson was my hero, the reason why I love music and the reason why I make music. It is so sad to know that there will be no more new material from the most talented artist of all time, but I am thankful to have lived in his era and experience his journey.

R.I.P MJ, we miss you already.

Music update

Cool, so the mad rush of getting my deadlines in for Uni has passed, and now I have 12 weeks of non-stop music making (and blogging) at my disposal.

There's a few loose ends I've gotta tie up simultaneously including my mixtape: The Golden Tape. Of course, there's also the big project aka Trust Me, which is my new single, featuring Seyi. The video shoot should be happening within the next few weeks.

Might be working with Fraser T. Smith (produced for Craig David, Kano, Tinchy, N-Dubz) for the mixdown of Trust Me too, just waiting to hear back!

I'll also be doing my thing with my band The Street Orchestra over the summer. Considering putting a live-album together for my major 3rd year project at Uni.

And finally.. expect to see projects from me with the likes of:

- Seyi
- Dubplate Drama
- King Kash
- Unreal
- Enigma
- DPZ

For now, I'm out. PEACE.
